The State Accrediting Agency (SAA) is a federally funded program with its own Board, Director, and staff. Though not a division of the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (ODVA), SAA receives its administrative support from the Department.

The SAA has the responsibility for all approved criteria, (under the G.I Bill, to include provisions under the New Montgomery G.I. Bill and the Oklahoma G.I. Bill), for veterans' professional and educational needs.

Eligible veterans, dependents, military reserve, and National Guardsmen are enrolled in over 400 different schools and colleges across the state in Education Programs. The scope of the SAA's actions are approved and continued in the compliance with Federal and State regulations. The range spans from Apprenticeship, Vo-Tech and On-The-Job training establishments, to university level programs.
