The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office has been located in the Oklahoma Veterans Memorial Building, just west of the state Capitol, since 1976. Those days are coming to an end as we move opeartions to the Vezey Veterans Complex.
The new building , located at 2132 NE 36th St., was once the home of the OSBI Crime Lab. Renovations began in January 2016 and were funded by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES), the owners of the building. Legislation passed in 2016 determined the building will be named the "Vezey Veterans Complex" in honor of Edward Earl Vezey Jr., the last Survivor of the USS Oklahoma, as well as the 429 service members who were killed aboard the USS Oklahoma on that fateful day in 1941.
The expected move in date is targeted for September 5th, 2017. During the move, Veterans and their families will be able to visit Veterans Service Representatives at both locations.
